Carrisa Holly is a densely compact evergreen shrub with glossy green leaves with a single spine at the tip. If pollinated, the tiny fragrant flowers in spring give way to red fruit in fall which lasts through winter. Best planted in moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils. Hollies are dioecious and need both male and female plants to produce fruit.
