Tussock Sedge is a tufted na t ive aquatic grass with evergreen foliage. Its new fountain-like foliage is a bright green, which grows above its old straw-like leaves that are retained for a year creating a layered effect. In spring clumps rise above the foliage and when the green flowers mature they are replaced by chocolate brown seed clusters. Prefers partial sun and wet soils.
